Ambassador of Italy
Marilena was born in 1966 in Chiampo, a small village in northern Italy.
An anti-fascist father and partisan will forge her spirit for justice and freedom, and comics readings of a big brother will direct her to the humour graphic.
She has been teaching Artistic Anatomy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice since 1992 and also Illustration since 2003.
She participated in numerous exhibitions and festivals where it is often rewarded. As in 2011 the Grand Prize at the 11th edition of the World Press Freedom Cartoon Competition in Ottawa, and in 2013 the 41 ° Premio Forte dei Marmi per la politica Satira for satirical drawing.
Many collaborations with magazines and national newspapers: Corriere della sera (ViviMilano, CorrierEconomia, CorriereSoldi, CorriereLavoro, CorriereScuola), Diario, Gente Money, Borsa & Finanza, Avvenimenti, Salute Naturale, Il nostro budget, Monthly, etc.
More recently she published in Barricate! and in the satirical newspapers The Misfatto, Il Ruvido, Fire.
Today she especially drawing for Il Fatto Quotidiano (since 2009), for L’Antitempo, for many blog of information and online journals (Aspirina, la rivista and Asino) and the French quarterly Espoir.
