In November, 1990, at 12-yrs.-old, I left the Atlanta Constitution to go work at the little ol’ Augusta Chronicle as the News Graphics Editor. I never planned to be there for darn near 30 years, but my, how time has flown by. I spent the last 20 or so as Editorial Cartoonist and today was my last day. I truly had a blast and it never felt like “going to work.” I was fortunate to work with some of the absolute best humans — not just great newspaper people, which they also were/are. This is my last cartoon for the Chronicle and it will be in Sunday’s edition, if you care to pick up a copy. If you’d have asked me last week, “What are you going to do now?” I’d have said, “I have no idea.” Today, I have SO much work and SO many cool, interesting projects that I don’t know how I’m going to have time to do them all. Can’t wait to tell you about them. God’s timing is impeccable. Oh, and I might have lied about the 12-yrs.-old thing.
